Grooves and moulded corners can retain loose paint or dirt that affects adhesion. The profile should be visible in the enquiry photos. Preparation must stay within suitable non-hazardous methods and does not imply stripping unknown old coatings.
A loose board or crumbling edge should not be hidden beneath another coat. Show splits, movement and moisture damage separately. Suitable trim repair may be discussed through the relevant repair service before any finishing work is planned.
An existing glossy coating may require different preparation from a matt surface. Tell Fix Nik what product was used if known. A compatible coating system and finish should be agreed before buying materials solely to match an old colour label.
The agreed service covers small interior trim preparation and recoating after substrate suitability review. Exclusions: Structural timber repair, hazardous coating removal, external window restoration, large renovation repaint.
